020. Healing the Father Wound
The father wound is a term to describe the consequences of a father figure being absent. The father might be physically absent, emotionally distant or unavailable, physically or verbally abusive, or overly critical and dismissive of the child’s behavior. Not having a father figure present might show up in (romantic) relationships and a feeling of lack of safety and worthiness.

If we have a secure attachment style, it is easy for us to be in relationship with others, we feel comfortable with intimacy and sharing our feelings. If we have an insecure attachment style, we are either anxious, avoidant or disorganized when it comes to relating to others and forming relationships.
